Obverse description The obverse features the fourth effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as engraved by Susanna Blunt, depicting the monarch in a mature portrait facing right, bareheaded, wearing a necklace and drop earrings. The effigy is rendered in refined relief against a smooth field. The legend ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA arcs along the upper periphery in Latin script, denoting her title as Queen by the Grace of God. The portrait reflects the Queen at approximately 77 years of age, consistent with Blunt's official effigy adopted by the Royal Canadian Mint from 2003.
