| Reverse description | Eagle standing to left with wings folded, head turned back to right, rendered in a compact and stylised manner consistent with Cypriot engraving conventions of the early fourth century BC. The bird is depicted on a plain ground line, occupying the central field of the irregular oval flan. To the right of the eagle, a Cypriot-syllabic inscription is partially preserved in the field. The overall style reflects the provincial but distinctive coinage of the kings of Paphos during the reign of Timocharis. The surface carries a dark patina with areas of green corrosion. |
