Reverse description The Genius of France, depicted as a standing winged figure, is shown inscribing the Constitution upon a rectangular altar positioned to the right of the field, a design engraved by Augustin Dupré. The denomination is expressed in two parts flanking the central motif, with '15' to the left and 'SOLS' to the right of the Genius. Beneath the numeral '15' appears the mint-master's differend, and beneath 'SOLS' appears the mint workshop letter identifying the place of coinage. The surrounding legend reads REGNE DE LA LOI followed by the date expressed as the Revolutionary calendar year AN 3 DE LA LIBERTE.
