| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Empress Maria Theresia, her hair elaborately curled and dressed in the fashionable mid-18th century style. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine detail on the lace and floral ornaments of her bodice. A continuous Latin legend encircles the bust, reading M THERESIA D G R I // GER HUNG & BOH REG, identifying her as Queen of Germany, Hungary, and Bohemia by the grace of God. The portrait is engraved in a naturalistic Baroque style characteristic of the Graz mint issues of this period. The field is smooth and slightly concave. |

| Reverse description | A crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed in the center of the coin, its wings spread and each head bearing a separate crown, with a composite escutcheon on its breast incorporating the arms of the Habsburg hereditary lands. The central shield prominently features the arms of Styria. The value XV appears in Roman numerals at the base of the eagle's breast shield. A Latin legend encircles the design, citing the Archduchess of Austria, Duchess of Burgundy and Styria. The engraving reflects the formal Baroque heraldic style typical of mid-18th century Austrian coinage. |

| Additional information |
The 15 Kreuzer denomination was a workhorse of mid-eighteenth century Habsburg commerce, struck at multiple mints simultaneously to meet demand across a territorially vast empire still absorbing the financial strain of the War of the Austrian Succession. The Graz mint — operating in Styria under provincial administration — ran its own dies, which accounts for the Her. 1090–1092 variety distinctions recorded across the three-year run.
Maria Theresia had only recently secured her inheritance through eight years of war; the silver flooding into these coins came partly from revitalized Bohemian and Hungarian mining operations she reorganized after 1745.
