| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Leopold I facing right, with long flowing hair and a small mustache, wearing armored shoulders. The denomination mark XV appears in the lower left field. The encircling legend reads LEOPOLDVS D G R I S A G H B REX, identifying the emperor by name and his royal titles, separated by dots. The portrait is rendered in the baroque style characteristic of Habsburg coinage of the mid-seventeenth century. |

The encircling legend reads ARCHID AVS DVX BVRG STYRIAE, citing Leopold I's principal hereditary titles as Archduke of Austria, Duke of Burgundy, and Duke of Styria.
