| Obverse description | Crowned and draped bust of Archduke Ferdinand II facing right, wearing an elaborate ruffled collar and ornate armour with decorative detail visible on the shoulder and chest. The crown is of imperial form with cross finial and arch. The effigy is rendered in a robust, late-Renaissance style typical of Inner Austrian coinage. The encircling legend reads FERDINANDVS D G ARCHIDVX AVSTR, interrupted by the denomination numeral 15, with the legend running between two linear borders. |

| Reverse description | Four crowned coats of arms arranged in a cruciform pattern around a central shield; the central shield bears the arms of Styria and Carinthia, with Tyrol also represented among the quarters, the shield of Austria placed below, and the arms of Gorz (Gorizia) incorporated within the surrounding legend. Each shield is individually crowned. The arrangement reflects Ferdinand II's dynastic claims over the Inner Austrian territories. The date appears within the reverse legend. |
