| Obverse description | Central field enclosed by a raised inner circle, flanked on either side by stylized grain ears forming a decorative border. Within the inner circle, four lines of Arabic script in Naskh style occupy the field: the topmost line reads 'Al-Ghurfah' (the name of the issuing state), the second line the abjad numeral 129 (anagram for the ruler's given name Saleh), the third line 'Abdāt' (the ruler's family name), and the lower line the Hijri date 1344 preceded by the word 'Sanah' (year). The entire design is framed by an outer beaded border running along the rim. |
