| Obverse description | Central field displays the elaborate quartered coat of arms of the Archbishopric of Salzburg, surmounted by a crossed crozier and sword, with the ecclesiastical hat (galero) above bearing pendant tassels on either side. The shield is flanked by two tall architectural towers rendered in fine detail. The date 1654 appears divided across the field, flanking the central arms. The peripheral legend in Latin reads GVIDOBALDVS D : G : ARCHI EPS : SALISBVRG : SED : AP : LEG, identifying Archbishop Guidobald von Thun by name and title as Archbishop of Salzburg and Apostolic Legate. |
