Reverse description A finely detailed high-relief depiction of a Shar-Pei dog, its characteristic wrinkled folds rendered with sculptural precision, set against a deeply mirrored black proof field. The dog is shown in a three-quarter seated pose facing right, framed by an elaborate decorative surround of lotus flowers and foliage rendered in frosted relief across the scalloped border. The Chinese character for dog (狗) appears in the lower right field, and the engraver's initials 'CRR' are inscribed at the bottom of the design. The contrast between the matte gold-toned decorative elements and the polished dark field creates a striking two-tone visual effect.
