Obverse description Right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II occupying the lower lobe of the figure-eight-shaped flan, with the date 2021 inscribed to the upper left of the portrait. A small depiction of the New Zealand Southern Cross flag appears to the left in the field. The legend ELIZABETH II / TOKELAU / 15 DOLLARS is arranged in three lines to the right of the effigy. The upper lobe features a circular disc element with a central aperture, giving the coin its distinctive double-lobed form. The antiqued finish lends a matte, aged appearance to the entire obverse surface.

Additional information

Tokelau has no mint of its own and issues coins entirely as a revenue mechanism administered through New Zealand, which has managed the territory's external affairs since 1926. The coins carry legal tender status under Tokelau law but have never circulated — the atoll's three villages use the New Zealand dollar in daily commerce, and the population hovers around 1,500 people across a total land area of roughly 12 square kilometres.

The 93.3g weight corresponds to 3 troy ounces of .999 silver, a format favored by the bullion-collector market that drives most of Tokelau's numismatic output.
