The Perth Mint's annual Lunar Series has run across two full twelve-year cycles, making 2020's Mouse issue the eighth coin of the third series. The Mouse — or Rat, depending on translation convention — opens each Lunar cycle, and Perth has used that position to introduce design and finish refinements that carry forward through the subsequent eleven years. The sixth portrait of Elizabeth II, by Jody Clark, was introduced in 2015 and remains the most recent effigy approved before her death in 2022.
