| Reverse description | The reverse features a colourised depiction of a white horse standing in profile facing left, rendered in a refined East Asian artistic style evoking traditional Chinese painting. In the upper right field, a stylised golden cloud motif is incused against the mirror field. To the lower left, the Chinese character '馬' (horse) is prominently displayed in a seal-script cartouche. The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark appears at lower centre, just below the horse's body. |

The "Listen to the Night" horse lunars from Perth's 2014 program belong to the second iteration of the mint's 12-year lunar cycle, which began again in 2008 after the original series concluded in 2007. The .9999 fineness — fine gold rather than the .999 used in many comparable issues — was a deliberate product distinction Perth adopted to position its lunar coins against the Royal Canadian Mint's Maple Leaf. At 3.111 grams, the piece corresponds to one-tenth troy ounce.
Mintage for the $15 denomination in this year was capped at 30,000 — modest by bullion standards, tight enough that secondary market premiums have held.
