| Obverse description | The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicting a right-facing draped bust of the Queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs across the upper field and 'AUSTRALIA' continues along the right periphery, both separated from the design by a beaded inner border. The denomination '15 DOLLARS' is inscribed along the lower arc. The engraver's initials 'IRB' appear beneath the truncation of the portrait. The entire design is set against a deeply mirrored proof field with a dark cameo contrast. |
