Additional information

The Perth Mint's fractional gold kangaroo series occupies an unusual commercial position: the 1/10 oz denomination was designed primarily for retail investors entering the bullion market rather than for numismatic collectors, and the kangaroo design changes annually — a deliberate policy introduced to sustain collector interest and secondary market premiums above spot. The fourth portrait of Elizabeth II, by Ian Rank-Broadley, was phased out across Commonwealth mints between 2019 and 2020 as the Jody Clark effigy took over, making the 2020 strikes the last of this portrait type for the series.
