Additional information

Perth Mint's gold kangaroo bullion series has run continuously since 1989, making it one of the longer-lived national gold programs. Unlike the American Gold Eagle or South African Krugerrand, the kangaroo design changes annually — a deliberate policy that has historically supported secondary market premiums on specific dates and driven collector demand beyond pure melt value. The 2010 issue falls under Ian Rank-Broadley's fourth effigy of Elizabeth II, introduced to Australian coinage in 1999.
