| Obverse description | The national arms of the Lao People's Democratic Republic are depicted centrally, featuring the That Luang stupa set before a landscape with the Mekong River, flanked by symmetrical sheaves of rice and a cogwheel at the base. A globe in the lower portion of the arms bears a grid pattern, and a ribbon scroll in Lao script runs across the cogwheel. The encircling legend reads 'THE LAO PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC' along the upper periphery, with the date '2005' inscribed in the exergue below the arms. |
