| Reverse description | The reverse presents, within a central circular border, the jubilee logo commemorating the 240th anniversary of the university, with the numeral 240 from the logo repeated as a decorative background pattern filling the field. A double circular legend surrounds the central medallion: the upper arc bears the university's name in Hungarian, BUDAPESTI MŰSZAKI ÉS GAZDASÁGTUDOMÁNYI EGYETEM, while the lower arc carries the English equivalent, BUDAPEST UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY AND ECONOMICS. The two inscriptions are separated on the left by a stylised floral motif derived from the university's ceremonial sceptre, and on the right by the artist's mark of engraver András Szilos. Along the inner edge, a further circular Latin inscription reads UNIVERSITAS BUDAPESTINENSIS SCIENTIARUM TECHNICARUM ET OECONOMICARUM, giving the institution's official Latin name. |
