Reverse description Quadripartite incuse square formed by two intersecting diagonal grooves dividing the reverse into four recessed triangular sections, a hallmark of early archaic Greek coinage technique. The incuse is deeply struck and irregular in outline, consistent with primitive punch dies employed at Kyzikos during the late 7th to early 6th century BC. The field surface within each quadrant is rough and unworked.
