Obverse description Central crowned shield bearing the arms of Friesland — two confronted lions passant in pale — flanked by elaborate foliate and strapwork mantling. The crown above the shield is of the open provincial type with floral finials. The shield is set within a beaded inner border, with the circular Latin legend occupying the outer field between the beaded and rope-cord borders.

Reverse description Standing bust of a Frisian farmer in three-quarter profile facing right, wearing a broad-brimmed cap and traditional coat, with a sword raised over the right shoulder. The denomination '14 ST' is divided by the figure to either side, and a mintmark (lion) appears at the top of the field. The date is incorporated within the circular Latin legend, which runs between inner beaded and outer rope-cord borders.
