Reverse description A stylised horse prancing to the right occupies the central field, rendered in the characteristic schematic Celtic manner with exaggerated musculature and abstracted limbs. Multiple pellets are arranged above and below the horse, serving as decorative field ornaments. Below the horse, a ground line composed of pellets or pellet-and-ring devices is present. The legend DVBNOVELLAUNOS, attributing the coin to the Trinovantian ruler Dubnovellaunus, appears within or around the design, consistent with the adoption of Latin lettering on late British Celtic coinage.
