Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on her head, with a prominent crest and cheek-guards rendered in relief. The facial features display the idealized Hellenistic style typical of the Lysimachean mint, with a sharply defined profile. The flan is irregular, with the legend partially visible along the upper rim of the coin.

Reverse description Forepart of a lion striding vigorously to the right, its open jaws and mane rendered in bold relief in the Hellenistic tradition. Behind the lion, a kerykeion (caduceus) is depicted in the left field, accompanied by a control monogram. The royal legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ is distributed around the type, identifying the issuing authority as King Lysimachus of Thrace.
