| Additional information |
Astypalaia, a small Aegean island straddling the Cyclades and Dodecanese, struck bronze coinage during the fourth century largely to support local exchange — the island had no major silver-producing resources and operated at the margins of the broader Aegean economy. Its autonomous issues are sparsely documented, and HGC 6, 1275 represents one of the scarcer recognized types, with very few specimens recorded in major collections.
