| Obverse description | Forepart of a bee facing, rendered in high relief with naturalistic detail, occupying the central field. The insect's wings are spread symmetrically to either side, with segmented body visible between them. The ethnic abbreviation E-Φ (for Ephesos) appears divided on either side of the bee in the field. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show characteristic green patination consistent with ancient bronze coinage. |
