| Reverse description | A tall palm tree occupies the center of the reverse field, rendered with a slender trunk, fronds spreading gracefully to either side, and secondary shoots or offshoots flanking the base. The palm, a longstanding symbol associated with Panormus and its Punic heritage, is depicted with naturalistic detail and fills the flan to the rim. The letters L and M, identifying the duoviri or magistrates responsible for the issue, appear in the lower field to either side of the trunk. The plain, unbordered field and irregular flan edge are characteristic of hammered colonial bronzes of the late Republican period in Sicily. |
