Additional information

Part of the Royal Canadian Mint's ongoing Wildlife series, this 500g kilo-class piece was issued during a period when the RCM aggressively expanded its bullion and collector crossover market, producing oversized silver issues that competed directly with private mint offerings from Perth and Valcambi. The grey fox itself is an unusual subject — unlike the red fox, it is one of the few members of the dog family capable of climbing trees, a biological quirk that sets it apart from virtually every other canid in North America.
