Obverse description Head of Poseidon facing right, wearing a taenia or fillet, rendered in archaic Greek style within a shallow incuse field. The facial features are summarily engraved, characteristic of the small module coinage of the Italiote Greek colonies. The flan is irregularly shaped, as typical of hammered issues of this period and denomination.
