Obverse description The field depicts a relief scene of two money changers at a table with scales and coins, adapted from a 16th-century woodcut illustrating the inflationary Kipper und Wipper period. In the lower portion of the field, two gold-plated insets reproduce the obverse and reverse of the Johann Georg I Saxony Taler of 1622 (60 Groschen, Schreckenberger type), with the legend SCHRECKENBERGER in a cartouche below. The surrounding legend TEUERUNG UND TEUFELSWWERK arcs along the upper rim in raised Latin lettering.
