| Obverse description | Armored and draped bust of Grand Master Antonio Manoel de Vilhena facing right, with an elaborate full-bottomed wig of flowing curls. The breastplate is adorned with the eight-pointed cross of the Order of St. John. The effigy is rendered in high relief in a bold Baroque style, filling most of the coin's field.
