| Obverse description | The Royal Arms of Portugal displayed centrally on an ornate shield, surmounted by a royal crown. The shield features the characteristic Portuguese escutcheon with five bezants arranged in a cross pattern within a bordure of castles. The arms are flanked by elaborate baroque scrollwork and foliate mantling filling the field, in the hammered style typical of Portuguese colonial coinage struck at the Goa mint. |
