| Obverse description | A horse prancing to the right occupies the central field, rendered in a schematic local Ibero-Roman style characteristic of southern Lusitanian civic bronzes. Above the horse, the Latin legend BALS is inscribed in large, somewhat crude characters across the upper field. The flan is irregular in shape, as typical of hammered provincial issues of this period, with a dark olive-brown patina covering the surface. |
