Obverse description Male rider, identified as a Kyrenaean horseman, depicted in right profile mounted on a prancing horse moving to the right, rendered in high relief with fine naturalistic detail characteristic of late Classical Greek coinage. The rider wears a short chiton and chlamys, his right arm extended forward. The horse is shown with elaborately rendered mane and musculature, its forelegs raised in a spirited trot. A dotted border runs along the lower exergual line. The Greek legend KYPA appears in the upper left field.
