Obverse description Crowned imperial eagle displayed above the quartered arms of Geneva, the shield divided vertically: dexter half bearing a rampant eagle and sinister half featuring a key with trefoil finial. The date 1654 is split to either side of the eagle at the top of the field. The circular Latin legend GENEVA. CIVITAS. runs around the periphery, with a beaded border encircling the entire design.
