| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of King Oscar II facing right, with closely cropped hair and a full beard, rendered in high relief with fine portrait detail. The effigy is set within a continuous beaded border encircling the entire field. The surrounding legend reads OSCAR II NORGES SVER.G.V.KONGE, divided by a star ornament, with the motto BRODERFOLKENES VEL completing the circuit. The portrait is engraved in a restrained neoclassical style characteristic of mid-19th century Scandinavian coinage. |
