Obverse description Central field displays the elaborate interlaced royal cipher of Christian VI — the intertwined letters C and VI rendered in a decorative cursive monogram — surmounted by an open royal crown with cross finial. The circular legend is divided at either side by the monogram and reads in Latin around the periphery. The design is executed in a refined baroque style characteristic of Danish coinage of the period.
