| Obverse description | Central crowned Portuguese royal coat of arms, featuring the quartered escutcheon with castles and shields, set within a beaded inner circle. The shield is surmounted by a royal crown, the whole surrounded by an ornamental beaded border. The field shows the characteristic rough hammered surface typical of colonial Goan copper coinage of the early nineteenth century. |
