Reverse description Central field displays the denomination mark IB (= 12 in Greek numerals), flanked by a large cross potent on the left, rendered in bold relief. Below the denomination mark appears a decorative element or exergual line. The mint signature ΑΛΕΞ (Alexandria) is partially visible, identifying the place of issue. The design is sparse and monumental, consistent with Byzantine fractional bronze coinage of the Alexandrian mint under Heraclius.
