| Obverse description | Within a beaded inner circle, the denomination XII is prominently displayed at the top of the field, with the inscription MARIEN GROSCH: FEIN SILB: arranged in multiple lines below, and the mintmaster initials H H at the base. The surrounding legend reads D.G.AVGVSTVS.WILHELM.DVX.BR.&L. with the date 1717 incorporated into the outer legend. The design is entirely typographic, with no portrait, following the convention of value-type coinage for the Wolfenbüttel series. |
