Reverse description Artemis standing facing right in the attitude of an archer, dressed in a short belted chiton and high boots (endromides), drawing a bow with both arms extended. A hound leaps at her feet to the lower left, depicted in mid-stride. The Greek legend ΣΥΡΑΚΟΣΙΩΝ runs vertically along the right field, and the control mark ΜΙ appears to the left of the figure. The composition is dynamic and finely executed in the Hellenistic manner characteristic of Syracusan coinage of the Fifth Democracy period.
