| Obverse description | Head of Athena facing left, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, rendered in fine late Hellenistic style with naturalistic facial features and flowing hair curling beneath the helmet rim. The cheek-guards of the helmet are raised, and the crest is visible atop the bowl. Curling locks of hair emerge from beneath the helmet and fall across the neck and cheek. The AΓ monogram appears in the field behind the neck, serving as a magistrate or control mark. |

| Reverse description | Standing figure of Artemis depicted in left profile, drawing an arrow from a quiver on her back with her right hand while extending a bow with her left; she wears a short chiton befitting a huntress. A hound springs forward to the left at her side, rendered in energetic, naturalistic style. The ethnic legend ΣΥΡΑΚΟΣΙΩΝ appears in the field along with the control letters ΣΩ to the left, identifying the issuing city of Syracuse. |
