Obverse description Cast bronze cash coin with a central square perforation flanked on either side by two archaic Chinese seal-script characters reading right to left: 半 (Ban) and 兩 (Liang), meaning 'half ounce.' The characters are rendered in relief within a plain, unraised field, without an inner or outer rim rim. The flat, irregular flan surface shows the characteristic coarse texture of early Han-period casting, with no additional decorative elements.
