Obverse description Draped bust of Margrave Wilhelm of Baden-Baden facing right, wearing an elaborate ruff collar with detailed lacework. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine engraving of the drapery and facial features characteristic of early 17th-century German coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading GVILHELM9 D:G:MARG:BAD:ET:HACHB., identifying the ruler by name and title within the outer beaded border.
