Obverse description Five-fold quartered coat of arms of the lords of Haldenstein displayed within a beaded inner circle, featuring lion and bar motifs in the various quarters. The encircling Latin legend reads around the periphery, identifying Thomas I, Lord Baron of Ehrenfels and Lord in Haldenstein. The shield is rendered in the flat, stylised heraldic manner typical of early seventeenth-century South German hammered coinage.
