Obverse description An angel displayed in the upper field, wings spread, hovering above a two-fold quartered shield bearing the arms of Anhalt. The composition is set within a beaded inner circle, with a partial Latin legend arranged around the periphery. The overall style is characteristic of the debased Kipper-period hammered coinage of the early seventeenth century.
