Obverse description Obverse field bearing multiple punch-marked symbols applied by individual dies, characteristic of Mauryan imperial coinage. Visible devices include a sun symbol with radiating elements at left, a central deeply impressed circular motif consistent with the Mauryan imperial mark, and a taurine or crossed symbol to the right. An additional punch mark is present in the lower left quadrant. The punches are applied to an irregular, flat-hammered silver flan with naturally uneven edges.
