Additional information

Issued to mark the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, this coin was part of a coordinated release across all eurozone member states — each mint producing its own national version to the same specifications, allowing the series to circulate freely between countries under EU agreements. Spain's participation carried particular symbolic weight given that the country only joined the European Communities in 1986, nearly three decades after the treaty it was now commemorating.
