Reverse description Two mitred bishops, Saints Rupert and Virgil, are depicted facing each other in three-quarter length within the field. Saint Rupert on the left holds a salt barrel, his traditional attribute, while Saint Virgil on the right holds a model of a church or cathedral. Between them stands a tall crozier. Both figures are rendered in high relief in the elaborate Renaissance style typical of Salzburg workshop production. The circumferential Latin legend names both saints and their episcopal see.
