Obverse description Draped and armored bust of Ferdinand III facing right, bare-headed with a prominent ruffled collar and a lion-head pauldron on the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine engraving characteristic of early 17th-century Silesian die work. The mintmaster's initials HG appear in the field beneath the truncation. A beaded inner circle frames the portrait, with the Latin royal legend disposed around the periphery.
