Obverse description Saint Leodegar seated facing left, raising his right hand in blessing and holding a crosier in his left, dressed in mitre and full episcopal vestments; behind him stands Saint Maurice in armour holding a lance. An ornate cartouche bearing the arms of Lucerne is supported by two putti in the foreground, one holding a drill and palm leaf, the other resting on a sword. The twin-towered collegiate church of Lucerne appears in the right background, with the legend INTER SANCTOS SORS ILLORUM arching around the upper field and the date 1699 in the lower exergue.
