| Obverse description | The obverse features a richly coloured, irregularly shaped field dominated by a central tombstone motif bearing a bold cross, rendered in polished gold against a deep black background. The tombstone is flanked by tall white candles and framed by an ornate gold scrollwork border. A garland of vibrantly coloured sugar skulls (calaveras) and decorative flowers in the Día de los Muertos folk-art tradition surrounds the central design. The outer border of the coin is populated with additional stylised skulls, marigolds, and foliage in multicolour enamel. The curved legend 12 DOLLARS 2026 REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA 1/1000 OZ AU 9999 arcs across the upper field in white lettering. |
