Reverse description A fasces — the classical Roman symbol of civic authority and unity — stands upright at centre, flanked on either side by symmetrical laurel and oak branches that curve downward to meet at the base, forming a wreath. The denomination 12 D. appears prominently in the central field on either side of the fasces. The date and revolutionary year inscription arc along the lower portion of the wreath. A beaded border encircles the composition. The outer legend LA NATION LA LOI LE ROI proclaims the constitutional triad of the Nation, the Law, and the King, a defining motto of the constitutional monarchy period.
